Warranty

Last updated: August 11, 2026

We have been repairing computers in Queens and Westchester for over twenty years, and more than 30,000 devices have come across our bench. We stand behind the work we do and the machines we sell.
This page explains exactly what that means — what is covered, for how long, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Refurbished computers we sell

Every refurbished computer we sell comes with a 90-day hardware warranty, starting on the date of purchase. The same 90 days applies to every condition grade — an A-grade machine and a D-grade machine are covered identically.

What is covered — The whole machine and the parts inside it. If a hardware component fails under normal use within the warranty period, we repair it or replace the machine with an equivalent one, at no additional cost to you.

What is not covered — Accidental damage, drops, and liquid damage. Misuse. Cosmetic wear, including the wear already described by the machine’s condition grade at the time of sale. Software problems of any kind: viruses, malware, operating system errors, and anything caused by software installed after purchase. We are glad to help with software problems as a normal paid repair.

Extended coverage — At the time of purchase you can extend your coverage to up to one year. The terms are identical to the 90-day warranty, just for longer. Pricing depends on the machine, so ask us in store.

Transferring the warranty — The warranty follows the machine, not the buyer. If you sell or give the computer to someone else, their coverage continues for the remainder of the period, as long as they can show the original proof of purchase.

Returning a refurbished computer

If a machine is not right for you, bring it back within 7 days of purchase with your original receipt and we will refund you to your original payment method.

The computer needs to come back in the same condition it left, with everything that was included in the sale — chargers, cables, and any accessories. Machines returned with new damage, or with items missing, are not eligible for a refund.

After 7 days, the 90-day hardware warranty still applies, but we no longer offer refunds.

Repairs on your own computer

Repair work carries a 90-day warranty on the specific repair we performed and the parts we used, starting on the day you collect the machine. This includes liquid damage repairs, which we complete with a full inspection of the board.

What is covered — If the repair we carried out fails, or a part we installed fails, we put it right at no additional charge.

What is not covered — The rest of the machine. A repair warranty covers the work we did, not components we did not touch. If something unrelated fails later, that is a new repair. New physical or liquid damage after collection is also not covered, and neither are software problems.

Diagnostics are always free, and if we cannot fix a problem, you do not pay for the attempt.

How to make a warranty claim

Bring the machine to either of our stores with your original receipt or work order. There is no form to fill in and no need to call ahead, though calling first means we can tell you what to expect.

We will diagnose the problem at no charge and tell you whether it falls under warranty before doing any work. If it does, we repair it or replace the machine with an equivalent one. If it does not, we will explain why and quote you for the repair — the choice to go ahead is always yours.

Please back up your data before bringing a machine in for warranty service. Repairs sometimes require replacing a drive or reinstalling a system, and we cannot be responsible for data loss during warranty work. If you need help backing up, ask us — we do that too.
